Chris called from Santa Maria at 8:30 pm our time. Because Nicaragua does not observe daylight savings time, it's 6:30 there and already dark, which is a bummer. It was hot today but it rained, and tonight is very pleasant -- even cool.
Chris got his car right at the hotel in Managua which was convenient. Pastor Jose has arranged a mini-bus and driver to transport the rest of the team. Today they went to the market for food; tomorrow is shopping for project supplies.
When they came out of the market and went to get propane, the skies opened up. Chris said it absolutely poured for 20 minutes. They got tired of waiting for the rain to stop, so he got out of the car to get the gas anyway, and when he opened the car door, all the rain on the roof poured down over him. So he said, "We took our showers in Chinandega today."
Everything is all prepared for the team in Santa Maria, and everyone is anxiously waiting for the rest of the team. They all say Hola!!!
